I designed the 2017 Annual Report Brochure for ViviendasLeón, whose mission is to eliminate rural poverty by building self sufficient communities in and around León, Nicaragua. Their goal is to provide permanent, measurable gains in the standard of living of rural poor populations and to promote understanding between people. The Annual Report Brochure is to update current donors on the successes that the organization has accomplished, as well as attract future donors. When creating the brochure, I wanted to accentuate the beauty and vivid imagery that show off the country of Nicaragua and the amazing job ViviendasLeón has done to provide skills and resources for the people living there.
Recognizing & Combating Homeless Stereotypes is a brochure made to educate people on the stereotypes that homeless people face everyday by those around them. The brochure is meant to exist in grocery stores, coffee shops and every day places around San Francisco where homelessness is prevalent. The brochure brings to light these unfair stereotypes that are placed on the homeless community to the everyday person and changes the way people view and interact with the homeless going forward in order to help end homelessness in America. These stereotypes are keeping the homeless homeless and without pointing out these stereotypes and the problems they cause then we can never move forward and help end the growing epidemic.
Gun Control Advocacy&Awareness: 2017
In the fall of 2017, I was inspired to join Mom's Demand Action and advocate for gun control safety after the 2017 Las Vegas shooting when a gunman open fired on a crowd of concertgoers at a music festival killing 58 people. The following month, another shooting in happened in Texas killing 26 people. I strongly believe citizens need stricter gun safety laws and need representatives that will advocate for those stricter laws. The following project of mine looked at several people who have died in the past few years from accidental gun deaths. The number of accidental gun deaths from firearms exceeds the number of gun deaths we usually see happen on the news, but are never heard about the individuals. I wanted people to look at the posters when they walked by and understand that these numbers are real people who are more than just another gun shot victim. I also created postcards for people to sign that were addressed to local state representatives pleading for them to support stricter gun safety regulation.
My love for photography began when I started traveling. The photographs you see here are from a range of locations. I enjoy editing my images to create vivid and eye-catching photos with attention to detail and color. The photographs you see have been edited Photoshop and Procreate.

Dorm Room Sustainability on USF campus: 2017
Dorm Shopping Intervention was a sustainability project that I and fellow students put together to present to the Sustainability Office at the University of San Francisco in ways they can better implement sustainability within dorm rooms on campus. Through prototyping with questionnaires from students, we decided to tackle the problem with a multi-pronged approach with 3 parts: education, a year-round Craigslist platform and a yearly yard sale. The ideas presented to the Sustainability Office are being taken into consideration and they want to try and take some of these ideas forward and implement them on campus. Through this project, I learned a lot about design thinking and strategy. We looked at emotion, psychology, rhetoric, empathy, and global perspective when putting together this sustainability campaign. This project was extremely rewarding and I cannot wait to see how the outcome of these ideas on campus.

Out of the Screen: 2018
Out of the Screen addresses the question: how can components of social media applications be replicated in fun activities for people to promote a more social and organic way of interaction without the use of technology?” As kids, we are taught vital socializing skills that follow us the rest of our lives. Out of the Screen uses the familiar social media platform, Facebook, to create two activities that people can interact with in the gallery to show them that the truest form of communication with others will always be in person. One of the activities is for people to express their current thoughts or however they are feeling creatively at that time by drawing or writing on a postcard that will be pinned up on the News Feed board in the gallery for everyone to see. Stickers with different expressions are there to facilitate people to interact with one another's messages on the board. The second activity is for people to leave messages for a loved one, friend, or a stranger in the gallery. It is meant to promote interaction within one another in the gallery space, similarly to how we interact with what other strangers post on Facebook. The invention of these new social platforms have changed the way people are used to interacting and are making people more comfortable talking behind a screen than face to face. These social platforms will never go away, but we can teach kids that, although they have these platforms at the touch of their fingertips, the most fun and authentic way of communicating with one another will always be in person.
